Bought three pairs of Sphaerodactyluses in Hamm, and just released them into their new permanent homes. Now I guess I'll be lucky if I ever see them again ;)

Both measure 37x40x60cm, with false bottom.

1.1 S. torrei

1.1 S. elegans and 1.0 S. vincenti

THe thought was to give each pair a seperate home, but as I found the vincenti female stuck (and dry) in a cork-bark cavice I decided to just let the male live with the eleganses... Was this a bad idéa?

As I was told that only a handful of people in Europe have the vincenti currently, this sadens me deeply, as the chanses of getting hold of a single female is probably quite slim... : /

Cheers,
Martin

Hey Martin,

my female of Sphaerodactylus torrei does not hide too much. I can see her every few days. She is most easy to watch if there is no light in the room. She does not see me then and moves around in her tank.

Greetings

Björn

Hey Björn!

Pretty much same experience here. Female not too shy, but the male I've only seen once, plus the time when I moved him...

But good thinking with turning the lights off. Will try that from now on :)

Cheers,
Maertin

Hey Maertin,

I placed her tank close to my television and the light turns off at 22:30. So I can watch the gecko all evening while sitting in front of my television.

Greetings

Björn

Aha! Smart move ;)

I have a seperate room for the critters, and they illuminate the room quite well, but I've already seen them more today than I've done since Hamm, so I guess this will work out better than I feared :)

Cheers,
Martin

Hello Martin,

Nice, big tanks! It shouldn´t be a problem to keep S. vincenti together with elegans. S. elegans can tolerate various conditions and you can keep them as humid as vincenti.
Have fun with these beautiful geckos!

Greetings
Dennis

PS: I have an adult lonely female of S. vincenti for sale ;)

Hello Dennis, and thanks for the input. I took a gamle on putting them together as they are quite different morphologically, so good to hear that it will probably work out fine :)

And I would LOVE to get hold of your vincenti female! Could you please send me a PM and we can see how we can work this out! :D

Sweeet!

Cheers,
Martin

Luckily I was wrong about these guys, as I do get a glipse of them every now and then, and all 5 seems to be thriving :)

However, once the camera comes out they are like snow in hell, so this is the only photo so far. I think it's the female, an the look on her face is just fantastic

Thanks!

I notice now the rings under her eyes. Must be very tiered ;)
