I have two tanks setup for the raising of lygodactylus juvies. One is 30x20x25 the other is 20x20x25. I got one of those exo-terra compact hoods due to the sizing of the tanks. I first tried the exo-terra 5.0 compact lamps, but found there was not enough light produced by the bulbs. So i then went and got an Arcadia compact bulb with 7% UVB. This too did not produce much light. ;) So I now switched to the exo-terra 2.0 compact bulb.

My question is will this be enough UVB for raising the juvies, provided I give extra calcium with vit d3?

just remember glass and screen tops will filter out a lot of the uv.

if there is screen or glass between the light fixture and the lygodactylus, u mite wanna go with a exo-terra 10.0 compact flourecent

there is a 13watt and a 26watt...
so it depends how much space u have for the bulb..
the 26 watt bulbs are longer..

Which is why I am also feeding additional supplements to be safe. :)

I think 10.0 would be a bit too much when concerning tanks this small in height.

hmm..
I'm not sure if it's too much light or not.
I'm housing a pair of lygodactylus kimhowelli in a 5 gallon tank with a screen.
but instead of the exo Terrarium compact light fixture
i'm using the dome heat lamp instead.

works good so far
i guess because the screen filters out much of the UV

I just cannot imagine that a 10.0 lamp by itself produces light in a way that is pleasant for the eyes of the gecko.
5.0 by itself looks pretty harsh, I am afraid to picture 10.0
Does your dome sit on the screen or is it raised off?

it sits on the screen
but i have it pointed at a slight angle...
the lip of the tank isn't flat
